Hongqi HS3 New 2023 in-depth Walkaround Under the Hongqi marque, Chinese manufacturer FAW produces the Hongqi HS3 and the all-electric Hongqi E-HS3, both falling into the subcompact luxury SUV category. These models are positioned below the Hongqi H5 mid-size sedan. The Hongqi HS3 holds the distinction of being the smallest SUV in the Hongqi lineup, positioned below the existing Hongqi HS5. However, it wouldn't be surprising if Hongqi were to introduce even smaller cars in the future. With the addition of these two new SUVs, Hongqi's petrol-powered range now boasts five cars: the HS3, HS6, HS6, HS7, and the larger-than-life Hongqi LS7. Buyers can opt for two four-cylinder petrol engine choices in the Hongqi HS3. The first is a 1.5 turbo engine, offering 168 horsepower, a top speed of 195 kilometers per hour, and front-wheel drive. The second option is a 2.0 turbo engine, generating 252 horsepower, with a top speed of 210 kilometers per hour, available in both front-wheel drives for the base model and four-wheel drive for the high-end variants. All models come equipped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, Hongqi plans to introduce a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) version later in the year. As a compact SUV, the Hongqi HS3 accommodates five passengers comfortably. Its dimensions measure 4655 millimeters in length, 1900 millimeters in width, and 1668 millimeters in height, with a 2770-millimeter wheelbase. The curb weight of the 1.5 turbo model is 1660 kilograms, while the 2.0 turbo model weighs 1710 kilograms.
