Dongfeng officially launched the 2025 Aeolus L7 in the Chinese market on April 13, offering one of the most compelling plug in hybrid options at a base price of around 13,000 USD (47,750 AED). Available in a wide range of trims, the L7 aims to meet the needs of tech savvy and budget conscious drivers alike. With notable upgrades over its predecessor, the new L7 continues to offer both plug in hybrid and fully electric variants.

Long Distance Hybrid Tech with Outstanding Efficiency

The Dongfeng Aeolus L7 2025 offers over 2200 km of range and starts at 47K AED, combining performance and efficiency for GCC market drivers.

The Aeolus L7 2025 is built on Dongfeng’s Mach PHREV hybrid platform, which is shared across multiple EV and PHEV models. The system combines a 1.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder gasoline engine producing 152 hp with a 134 hp front permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering a total output of 355 hp and 615 Nm of torque. A 4 speed DHT transmission ensures smooth transitions between power sources.

Buyers can choose between two in house developed Mach battery packs: a 17 kWh version offering 110 km of electric only range and a 30.3 kWh version delivering up to 205 km. The combined range extends to 1,400 or 1,500 km, depending on the configuration, while fuel consumption is rated at just 1.49 L/100 km and 0.56 L/100 km, respectively. Fast charging takes only 26 minutes to go from 30% to 80%.

In a recent real world test around Hainan Island, the L7 PHEV achieved an exceptional 2,239.6 km on a single tank and full charge, showcasing the system’s impressive long distance capability.

Smart Cabin with Advanced Comfort and Connectivity

The Dongfeng Aeolus L7 2025 offers over 2200 km of range and starts at 47K AED, combining performance and efficiency for GCC market drivers.
Inside, the L7 offers a highly connected and modern cabin experience, especially in higher trims that are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chip. A 14.6 inch touchscreen serves as the command center, supported by a smart voice assistant and full smartphone remote control capability via a dedicated app.

Digital gauge clusters come in either 10 or 10.25 inches, depending on the trim. Top end variants feature a 1.08 square meter panoramic sunroof and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, ensuring greater safety and comfort during extended drives. Only the highest trim supports 50W wireless fast charging.

The L7 is also equipped with Dongfeng’s intelligent i-Control electronic system, which includes ABS, electronic brake force distribution, hydraulic brake assist, traction control, anti rollover protection, and hill descent control, reinforcing safety and control in various driving conditions.

All Electric Variant for Sustainable Mobility

The Dongfeng Aeolus L7 2025 offers over 2200 km of range and starts at 47K AED, combining performance and efficiency for GCC market drivers.

For those looking to go fully electric, the Aeolus L7 2025 offers a battery electric version with three battery options: 50.8 kWh, 61.2 kWh, and 62.3 kWh. These deliver up to 518 km of CLTC rated range, depending on the trim. The EV variant uses a front permanent magnet motor delivering up to 215 hp and 310 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 170 km/h. Fast charging for the electric version takes just 28 minutes from 30% to 80%.

The vehicle’s sleek exterior design measures 4,670 mm in length with a 2,775 mm wheelbase and comes in blue, silver, or a stylish two tone black and white finish, giving it a confident and upscale presence.

With its blend of cutting edge technology, long range efficiency, and highly competitive pricing, the Dongfeng Aeolus L7 2025 is a compelling option for Gulf drivers seeking a practical and dependable hybrid or electric vehicle tailored for long distance travel.
