The Saudi market is witnessing a rapid shift toward electric vehicles, with growing demand from drivers who want innovation, technology, and top level safety. In this context, BYD introduces its new Sealion 7, a modern electric crossover that combines advanced performance with sleek design. The model comes fully equipped with a wide range of intelligent safety systems, designed to boost driver confidence and provide passengers with maximum protection. Whether on city roads or highways, these features make the Sealion 7 one of the most attractive electric options for buyers in the Kingdom.

About the BYD Sealion 7

The BYD Sealion 7, known in the Chinese market as the Sealion 07 EV, is a mid size electric crossover that belongs to BYD’s renowned Ocean Series. First introduced in 2024 as the debut model of this family, it quickly expanded to global markets.

In Saudi Arabia, the Sealion 7 officially arrived in March 2025 through its distributor Al Futtaim Electric Mobility, offered in two distinct trims:

  • BYD Sealion 7 Premium RWD 2025 priced at 194,000 SAR

  • BYD Sealion 7 Performance AWD 2025 priced at 214,000 SAR

The model comes with a comprehensive warranty of 6 years or 150,000 km, whichever comes first, while the battery is covered for 8 years or 200,000 km. This highlights BYD’s commitment to delivering a worry free ownership experience and long term peace of mind for its customers.

Smart Safety Systems

The BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with a wide range of active assistance and preventive technologies that highlight the brand’s commitment to innovation and safety excellence. Among the most notable features are:

  • Electronic Stability Program (ESP): Adjusts braking and engine power to prevent skidding and loss of control during cornering or on slippery roads.

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB): Automatically applies the brakes when an imminent collision is detected and the driver does not react in time.

  • Traction Control System (TCS): Maintains wheel grip during acceleration on wet or slippery surfaces, improving vehicle stability.

  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW): Monitors the distance to vehicles ahead and alerts the driver with sound and light warnings when approaching too quickly.

  • Rear Collision Warning (RCW): Activates while reversing and warns of vehicles or obstacles behind the car that may pose a risk.

  • Blind Spot Detection (BSD): Monitors the sides of the vehicle and alerts the driver to cars in the blind spots when changing lanes.

  • Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS): Alerts the driver when the vehicle begins to drift out of its lane without signaling.

  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): Provides steering assistance to keep the vehicle centered within lane markings.

  • Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD): Optimizes brake pressure across all four wheels to enhance stopping efficiency and balance.

  • Multiple Airbags: Seven airbags, including front, side, and full length curtain airbags to protect passengers from all angles.

Global Safety Standards

The Sealion 7 goes beyond offering safety systems on paper by proving its capability in real world testing. The model earned a full five star safety rating from both Euro NCAP and Australia’s ANCAP, confirming its reliability in protecting occupants across a variety of crash scenarios.

This robust performance is supported by a hybrid body structure combining high strength steel and aluminum for maximum rigidity. Front and rear sensors further enhance awareness, making maneuvering and parking safer and easier in tight spaces.
