26,794 Vehicles Delivered in June So Far
According to recent data, Leapmotor has delivered 26,794 vehicles in June 2025 to date, following 773,206 deliveries by the end of May. This steady growth underscores the company’s position as a leading competitor in the electric vehicle sector, especially in the mid-range and affordable segments.
Launch of Updated 2026 C16 SUV
On the same day as the milestone announcement, Leapmotor prepared to launch the updated 2026 version of its C16 SUV, with the official event scheduled for 2 PM Beijing time. The new model features over 70 major upgrades, including extended driving range and improvements to interior space.
The C16 was first launched in June 2024 as a six-seater model, and now Leapmotor will offer five-seat versions to cater to a broader range of customers seeking greater flexibility.
Leapmotor’s History and Business Model
Founded in 2015, Leapmotor is one of the early startups in China’s new energy vehicle industry. The company initially focused on battery electric vehicles (BEV) and launched its first extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) in March 2023, allowing it to diversify its offerings and meet changing market demands.
Leapmotor’s current lineup includes the T03, B10, C01, C10, C11, and C16 models. Except for the T03 and B10, which are available only as BEVs, the other models offer EREV versions, providing customers with more choices to suit their needs.
Targeting Mid-Range and Affordable Markets with Competitive Pricing
Leapmotor primarily targets the mid-range and affordable market segments, offering competitively priced vehicles significantly cheaper than rivals like Li Auto. For example, the previous generation C16 measures about 4,915 mm in length with a 2,825 mm wheelbase, and its EREV version starts at 155,800 yuan.
In comparison, Li Auto’s cheapest model, the Li L6 EREV, starts at 249,800 yuan with a length of 4,925 mm and a 2,920 mm wheelbase, highlighting Leapmotor’s advantage in offering greater economic value.
Record Sales Figures in 2025
In May 2025, Leapmotor set a new record by delivering 45,067 vehicles, surpassing the previous high of 42,517 units in December 2024. This represents a year-on-year growth of 148.10% and a monthly increase of 9.82%.
From January to May 2025, the company delivered 173,658 vehicles, achieving an annual growth rate of 160.83%, confirming the ongoing momentum and expansion of its market share.
Leapmotor’s significant achievement demonstrates its success in building a strong brand in the electric vehicle market, focusing on innovative and advanced products that meet consumer needs at competitive prices. With the launch of the updated 2026 C16, the company aims to strengthen its position and expand its customer base in the near future.
