Lotus Eletre has recently launched in Egypt with a starting price of $229,900, significantly higher than the base price.

Lotus Eletre has recently made its debut in Egypt, while previously launching in North America as the exclusive Eletre Carbon edition, starting at $229,900. This price reflects a considerable increase over the vehicle's initial base price of $107,000, primarily due to new tariffs and import fees. Furthermore, this model is defined as an exclusive launch based on the most powerful version, R.

When Lotus first announced plans to launch Eletre in the United States, the Biden administration had not raised tariffs on electric vehicles manufactured in China from 25% to 100%. This allowed for a highly competitive pricing strategy for the electric SUV, providing a solid opportunity for success in the American market. However, the subsequent increase in tariffs, announced mere weeks after the initial pricing release, forced the auto manufacturer to adjust its pricing in the U.S.

The Eletre Carbon is based on the high-performance R variant, originally priced at $145,000, equipped with an 111.9 kWh battery and two electric motors rated at 905 horsepower and 985 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.95 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 265 km/h.

The Eletre Carbon offers a new color option in black known as Stardust, with satin finishes and carbon fiber details on the exterior. Color options include Stellar Black, Kaimo Gray, Solar Yellow, Acoya White, Galway Green, Polosum Gray, and Cinnamon Red. The vehicle features three types of leather and charcoal Alcantara accents, along with a carbon fiber steering wheel.

The seats come with five different massage modes, intricate ambient lighting, and a smart panoramic glass roof that can switch between transparent and opaque. Additionally, the optional carbon-ceramic brakes are now standard. A wide range of customization options will be available for North American customers seeking a new Eletre through the new Lotus Chapman Bespoke service.
