Lynk & Co, a subsidiary of Geely, has unveiled its new Lynk & Co 10 EM-P, a plug-in hybrid version of the Z10 electric sedan, in China ahead of its official market launch. This vehicle is part of the company’s strategy to expand its electric and hybrid vehicle offerings and meet the diverse needs of customers.
Background on the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P
The Lynk & Co 10 EM-P is based on the SEA modular platform, which also underpins the Z10 electric vehicle launched in September 2024. The Z10 targeted a broad customer base with a starting price of about 186,800 yuan (approximately $26,010). However, Z10’s sales have been relatively slow, with only 8,370 units delivered between September 2024 and April 2025, prompting the company to introduce the plug-in hybrid version to boost sales.
Exterior Design and Specifications
The 10 EM-P shares its exterior design with the electric Z10, featuring sleek lines and a sporty, modern look with a low hood. It retains distinctive LED headlights that serve as brand identity markers. The dimensions are expected to be similar to the Z10, which measures 5028 mm in length, 1966 mm in width, 1468 mm in height, with a 3005 mm wheelbase.
Performance and Technology
The 10 EM-P is built on the GEA Evo modular platform, the same platform used for the Geely Galaxy M9, which features a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with two electric motors. The car will be equipped with advanced Nvidia Drive Thor-U processing chip delivering 700 TOPS, alongside a Snapdragon 8295 processor and an advanced air suspension system, enhancing driving experience and comfort.
Cold Weather Testing and Launch Preparation
Lynk & Co announced the successful completion of cold-weather testing in northern China, in regions where temperatures drop to -40°C, such as areas near Yakeshi in Inner Mongolia and Mohe in Heilongjiang, China’s coldest city. These tests focus on evaluating drivetrain performance, battery efficiency, and suspension durability under harsh conditions, confirming the vehicle’s readiness for diverse environments.
Lynk & Co’s Market Strategy
Founded in 2017 as a joint venture between Geely and Volvo, Lynk & Co is a mid-to-premium brand offering a range of electric, hybrid, and conventional vehicles. It now operates under Geely’s Zeekr Technology umbrella. The brand’s lineup includes ten models with various powertrain options, making it a strong competitor in the growing Chinese and global automotive markets.
The Lynk & Co 10 EM-P represents a strategic move to strengthen the brand’s presence in the plug-in hybrid sedan segment, leveraging Geely and Volvo’s expertise in technology and design. With its modern design, advanced technology, and rigorous testing, the 10 EM-P is poised to meet the expectations of customers seeking a hybrid sedan that combines performance, efficiency, and comfort in China’s rapidly growing market.
