Mazda has recently launched the CX-70, a model that shares design elements, engines, and technology with the CX-90, but features only two rows of seats.
The starting price for the CX-70 in the U.S. market is set at $40,445 (approximately 152,000 SAR), as preparations are underway for its arrival in dealerships this spring.
Notably, the CX-70 is priced higher than the CX-90, which starts at $37,845, despite the latter offering an extra row of seating. This pricing strategy is due to Mazda's decision to forgo a base model for the CX-70, opting for more premium trims instead.
Engine Options and Specifications for the CX-70
The CX-70 features the same engine lineup as the CX-90, including a 3.3-liter turbocharged inline-six engine producing 280 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque in the base model, while the sportier S trim offers 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.
The SUV is also available with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder plug-in hybrid engine generating 323 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, offering a pure electric driving range of about 50 kilometers.
Equipped with advanced technologies, the CX-70 features a voice control system for various functions, including climate control and infotainment, along with Amazon Alexa integration. Additionally, it is equipped with a driver monitoring system that can gradually stop the vehicle if the driver becomes unresponsive or distracted.
