Mercedes AMG has officially unveiled the GT 43 Coupe, a stylish entry-level variant in the GT lineup, powered by a revolutionary 4-cylinder engine that delivers 421 horsepower and is complemented by an electric turbocharger. Unlike its more powerful counterparts, this model opts for rear-wheel drive instead of all-wheel drive.
To visually differentiate itself from the GT 53 and GT 63 models equipped with 8-cylinder engines, the GT 43 features unique aesthetic enhancements, marking its place in AMG history as the first model with a 4-cylinder engine.
Technical Specifications
This new coupe utilizes a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with an electric turbocharger inspired by Formula 1 technology, along with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. It features a 9-speed transmission that sends power to the rear wheels, producing a total of 421 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, with an additional 14 horsepower from the hybrid system. This performance allows the GT 43 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 280 km/h.
Distinctive Exterior Design
Mercedes has designed the GT 43 Coupe with a new front bumper, narrower fenders, and a simplified rear bumper, featuring circular quad exhaust pipes. Optional features include a rear wing, polished chrome accents, and 21-inch wheels, enhancing its sporty appearance.
Luxurious Interior
Inside, the GT 43 offers a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, alongside luxurious Nappa leather sports seats designed for comfort and support.
Mercedes AMG is set to launch the GT 43 Coupe in global markets by the end of this year, with a price positioned below the existing V8 variants, which start at approximately $135,000, appealing to a broader range of luxury sports car enthusiasts.
