- Mechanical Enhancements and a Power Boost Under the Hood
- A Bold Exterior Redesign Highlights NISMO’s Signature Look
- Sporty Cabin with Premium Finishes
As fall approaches, Nissan has revealed its latest creation in the world of full size performance SUVs with the debut of the 2026 Armada NISMO. This bold version gives the large SUV a full sporty transformation that goes far beyond looks. While the model is aimed at the American market, its comparison to the Patrol NISMO, developed specifically for the GCC, highlights key differences that will matter to performance enthusiasts in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Mechanical Enhancements and a Power Boost Under the Hood
The Armada NISMO is powered by a carefully retuned 3.5 liter twin turbo V6 engine, now producing 460 horsepower and 699 Nm of torque when using premium fuel. This marks a 35 hp increase over the standard version, achieved through refined engine programming and adjustments to valve clearances. However, these figures still fall short of its Middle Eastern twin, the Patrol NISMO, which delivers up to 495 horsepower from the same engine. The difference likely comes down to more flexible emissions regulations in the GCC region.
The performance upgrades extend beyond the engine. The exhaust system has been reworked to deliver a sharper, more aggressive sound, which is further amplified inside the cabin through an active sound enhancement system. The suspension has also been recalibrated for a lower, more planted ride, while the electric steering has been refined to offer sharper feedback and a more connected driving feel. Completing the sporty transformation are 22 inch forged aluminum wheels, wrapped in high performance all season tires, and matched with red brake calipers that underscore the vehicle’s performance focused identity.
A Bold Exterior Redesign Highlights NISMO’s Signature Look
The Armada NISMO stands out with a fully redesigned front end featuring a larger grille, an aggressive new bumper with vertical air curtains, striking red accents, and the signature NISMO badge. A prominent front splitter adds aerodynamic flair, while exclusive fog lights and more pronounced side steps enhance its athletic stance.
At the rear, the SUV gets a new bumper with a bold diffuser, although it misses out on the F1-style center brake light found in the Patrol NISMO. The color palette includes exclusive options like NISMO Stealth Gray, a two tone version with a Super Black roof, and the sleek Black Diamond Pearl, giving the Armada NISMO an unmistakable presence on the road.
Sporty Cabin with Premium Finishes
The interior of the Armada NISMO blends elegance with dynamic performance, featuring black leather seats trimmed with red stitching and quilted red inserts that highlight the SUV’s sporty character. Aluminum pedals and multicolor ambient lighting enhance the modern and performance focused ambiance, while the front seats come equipped with adjustable side bolsters to provide extra support during spirited driving.
The steering wheel has a unique design, complete with a red center stripe reminiscent of race cars, and NISMO branding appears on the headrests for a signature touch. While the Armada NISMO impresses with these sporty details, the Patrol NISMO offers an edge in rear seat comfort, featuring dual rear entertainment screens mounted on the front headrests, an option missing in the American version.
The Armada NISMO is expected to arrive at US dealerships in fall 2025, with pricing to be revealed closer to launch. Meanwhile, the Patrol NISMO will be available for order in Saudi Arabia and the UAE starting July 2025, giving performance enthusiasts in the GCC a more powerful and exclusive version of this high performance SUV.
