Recent spy photos from Chinese media reveal an updated Tank 700 Hi4-T, showcasing significant interior upgrades while maintaining its rugged and distinctive design.
Exterior
The new Tank 700 Hi4-T stays true to its bold, "mecha-style" aesthetics, retaining the strong, muscular look of the current model. The front features a wide horizontal grille, flanked by uniquely shaped headlights that add to its commanding presence. A larger front bumper further enhances its tough, off-road appeal.
From the side, the SUV maintains its signature boxy shape, with pronounced wheel arches emphasizing its power and strength. The rear side windows come with privacy glass, ensuring a more secluded experience for passengers. At the back, the exposed spare tire remains, reinforcing the vehicle’s adventurous character.
In terms of size, the new Tank 700 Hi4-T measures 5,090mm in length, 2,061mm in width, and 1,952mm in height, with a 3,000mm wheelbase, positioning it as a mid-to-large SUV.
Interior Upgrades
Inside, the most notable change is the integrated central control and co-pilot screen, adding a modern, high-tech feel to the cabin.
Other refinements include a new dual-spoke steering wheel and a redesigned gear shifter, replacing the previous electronic gear selector with a dual-gear shift system. The center console now features additional controls for four-wheel drive settings, seat heating, and other quick-access functions, offering both convenience and enhanced usability.
Performance & Powertrain
Under the hood, the Chinese-market version is expected to retain the 3.0T V6 plug-in hybrid system, delivering an impressive 385 kW (516 hp) and 800 N·m of torque. It offers a WLTC-rated pure electric range of 90 km and a fuel consumption rate of 10.9 L/100 km.
Cartea will continue to provide updates on this exciting new model as more details emerge.
