Driving the Prado is lighter and easier than I expected for a vehicle of its size. The steering is very responsive and flexible. However, the engine noise is quite noticeable and sounds a bit rough, especially when the engine kicks in after running on electric mode — things are quiet and smooth on electricity, but once the engine starts, the sound becomes prominent. Fuel consumption is really low. I haven’t taken it on long trips yet, but in the city, it doesn’t exceed 10L/100km. When I fill the tank, it shows a range of about 500 km — which is decent, but honestly, the fuel tank feels a bit small. The safety features are excellent. It has automatic emergency braking both front and rear, which is a great addition. The seats are a bit firm, but they offer good back support. One thing I don’t like is that you can’t fully turn off the headlights — they switch on automatically even before it gets dark. The smart system (infotainment and services) is free for the first five years, but no one seems to know how much the subscription will cost afterward — not even the dealership staff. Tip for anyone buying: when negotiating the price, ask them to activate the hidden features. For example, the windows don’t roll up automatically when you lock the car, and if you go back to the dealership to enable it later, they’ll charge you — which is kind of unreasonable. The trunk is spacious, but because of the battery placement, the floor is a bit high, which makes it harder to load and unload things. Rear legroom is average — if the front seats are reclined a bit, it gets a bit tight in the back. I’ve only had the car for a week, and these are my first impressions.

The first thing that made me fall in love with the car is its classic boxy design — it gives off a bold and rugged vibe, which I really like. Second, the power has clearly improved compared to the previous generation; you can feel the car is more responsive and stronger, especially when accelerating. Third, thankfully, the features are no longer basic like before — now it comes with all the essential functions plus a lot of extras that cover most people's needs. Fourth, the second-row space is honestly a bit tight, but the trunk is spacious and can carry a lot, which is great for road trips and travel. Fifth, I really liked the steering wheel — it’s a huge improvement from the old model. It feels lighter, easier to control, and gives better feedback. As for the downsides — like they say, nothing is perfect — there’s some engine noise, especially during heavy acceleration, and the sound isn’t the best; it feels a bit rough. The infotainment system doesn’t match what you’d find in electric or hybrid vehicles — there’s a noticeable gap in quality. One thing that hasn’t improved much from the previous model is the vibration when driving on concrete roads — the car shakes a lot in that condition, unlike something like a Land Cruiser, which gives much more comfort. So if you're looking for a super smooth ride, I wouldn’t recommend an off-road SUV. Currently, the fuel consumption is around 14 liters per 100 km.

Why does the new Prado no longer have the Toyota emblem and instead use the "Toyota" lettering?

Why does it feel like everyone online is criticizing it, saying it's not good and not as good as the 700-500, yet its sales are so high? Are the people who buy this car just not smart and have too much money? [facepalm]

Why does the top model only have 6 seats? It's quite inconvenient, not just for seating but also for storage space. I went to the 4S dealership, and the sales staff didn't know if there would be a 5-seater top model version in the future. Can anyone help? Will there be one later?

I'm torn between buying the new Prado or the Aviator. Any good advice, guys?

Hey everyone, just want to ask if the 2024 Prado has a narrow driving view and if the high hood affects visibility? I'm a bit hesitant to make a purchase.

The first two rows with 5 seats are used most by families. The third row is originally for emergency or temporary use. A 7-seat layout is the most reasonable. With 6 seats, it means you can only travel with 4 people regularly, which is quite awkward 😂

I initially thought this was a powerful, spacious, comfortable, and well-designed crossover, but it turns out to be just a show-off car. The mid-to-low trims don't even have the necessary off-road features. Totally disappointing, Toyota really has changed.

Why not buy a Ferrari????

I just bought a new Highlander less than two years ago, and now I'm thinking about switching to the new Prado. Are there any other owners with the same thought? I'm not sure how this car is, mainly for city and highway driving. I'm torn. 😖

Will there be a pure gasoline version?

Why doesn't the WX come in a 5-seater version?

I'm planning to buy a 2018 or later model with a 2.7 engine hood, or the new Haval H9. I mostly drive in rural areas and don't do much off-roading! Ideally, I'd like a Prado 3.5, but there's no 95 octane fuel available in my area! I'd love to hear some thoughts from experienced folks! Thanks for the feedback!

I am looking to buy a 2.7 model with a hood from 2018 to 2023, or the new Haval H9, without any basic options. Could someone help me analyze this? I actually want to buy a Prado 3.5, but it's inconvenient to get 95-octane fuel in my area. Thanks for your input!
