NIO will host the official launch event for the ES6 and EC6 on May 16. Show cars will be available in showrooms from that day, and test drives will be open to interested customers. On May 25, NIO will unveil the ET5 and ET5 Touring, with display vehicles arriving at dealerships starting May 22. Those who confirm their bookings by June 30 qualify for up to 240 complimentary battery swaps over five years, reducing operating costs and ensuring uninterrupted driving without range anxiety.
Interior and Tech Upgrades
NIO concentrated its cockpit updates on replacing the previous vertical touchscreen with a broader, horizontal display to improve driver interaction and expand the navigation field of view. The cabin now features NIO’s in house Shenji self driving chip, enhancing the precision of driver assistance systems and safety functions.
The brand elevated interior luxury by introducing premium leather upholstery and refined metal trims, while repositioning controls for more intuitive operation. Additional storage compartments improve comfort for occupants in both rows.
Comparison with Current GCC Models
The upgraded versions significantly outperform the models currently sold in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, thanks to a more spacious passenger cabin and the use of premium materials that enhance overall luxury. Improved sound insulation cuts external noise at high speeds, while the upgraded suspension system strikes an ideal balance between ride comfort and vehicle stability.
The new infotainment system offers real time map updates and seamless smartphone integration, allowing drivers to access apps and notifications without distraction during long journeys.
Price Expectations and Delivery Dates
NIO has not yet announced official pricing ahead of the full pre order launch. However, starting prices for the standard 2024 editions in China were set at ¥338,000 (AED 172,345) for the ES6, ¥358,000 (AED 182,543) for the EC6, and ¥298,000 (AED 151,949) for both the ET5 and ET5 Touring. In US dollars, these figures translate to roughly $41,500 to $49,500. The updated models are expected to carry a slight premium to reflect the value of technological upgrades and higher quality materials, and they may also offer larger capacity battery options and bespoke design accessories.
