Chinese automaker Leapmotor is reinforcing its position in the electric vehicle market with the launch of the 2026 C10 SUV. This new model blends advanced technology with competitive pricing and a range of powertrain options. Deliveries are set to begin on May 20, and the company plans to showcase the vehicle at the Hong Kong International Motor Show in June, as part of its strategy to expand both regionally and internationally.
Flexible Power Options: BEV and EREV
The C10 2026 is available in two primary variants to suit different driving needs: a fully electric BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and an extended range EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle). The BEV starts at 122,800 CNY (62,581 AED) and is offered in three trims that vary in features and power output. The EREV also starts at the same base price but incorporates different performance technologies.
The BEV model offers two electric motor configurations: 170 kW and 220 kW, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in either 7.29 seconds or 5.9 seconds, depending on the selected trim. It is powered by lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs with capacities of 69.9 kWh and 74.9 kWh, delivering a maximum range of up to 605 kilometers according to the CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) standard.
The EREV variant uses a 1.5 liter gasoline engine as a range extender, which generates electricity to power a rear mounted electric motor rated at 170 kW. It achieves 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in around 7.68 seconds. This version comes equipped with a 28.4 kWh LFP battery that provides an electric-only range of up to 210 kilometers. When both the battery and fuel tank are fully charged, the combined range extends to approximately 1,190 kilometers, making it ideal for long distance travel without frequent recharging or refueling stops.
Family Friendly Dimensions, Competitive Pricing, and Advanced Safety
The C10 2026 maintains its familiar exterior dimensions despite several technological upgrades, measuring 4,739 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height and featuring a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. These proportions provide a spacious cabin that comfortably accommodates five passengers, whether for daily commutes or extended road trips.
One of the model’s strongest selling points remains its competitive pricing. The base BEV variant is now approximately 6,000 CNY (3,057 AED) cheaper than its predecessor, while EREV variants have seen price reductions of up to 13,000 CNY (6,625 AED). This pricing strategy strengthens the vehicle’s appeal in its segment while maintaining a strong feature set.
In terms of safety, higher end trims of both BEV and EREV models are equipped with advanced LiDAR technology. This enhances the performance of intelligent driving systems and provides greater assistance behind the wheel. It reflects Leapmotor’s dedication to offering state of the art technology at accessible price points, delivering a well rounded driving experience that prioritizes both safety and innovation.
Strong Sales and Expanding Global Ambitions
The C10 recorded strong sales in April, with 9,756 units delivered, accounting for approximately 24% of Leapmotor's total sales of 41,039 units that month. These numbers highlight the vehicle's appeal among customers, thanks to its versatile configurations and efficient performance, solidifying its position in the advanced, budget friendly SUV segment.
Leapmotor plans to showcase the C10 at the Hong Kong International Motor Show as part of its global expansion strategy, following the successful launch of the BEV version in European markets in September 2024 and the introduction of the EREV version in January 2025. These developments reflect the brand’s continued momentum in building a strong international presence.
The C10 2026 stands out as a smart choice, blending modern technology with competitive pricing to meet the expectations of Gulf drivers. It offers a balanced mix of practical performance, onboard comfort, and refined features that align with today’s contemporary lifestyle.
