Xpeng has officially launched its all new G7 electric SUV in the Chinese market, introducing a strong contender in the midsize crossover segment with a five seat layout. The G7 blends futuristic design with advanced performance and smart technology, with a starting price of 195,800 yuan, or approximately 27,325 USD (around 100,364 AED). With this aggressive pricing, the G7 directly targets key rivals like the Tesla Model Y, Xiaomi YU7, and Zeekr 7X, leveraging its cutting edge features and extended driving range to appeal to a wide audience looking for a fully equipped electric SUV at an accessible price point.

The Xpeng G7’s exterior design embraces the brand’s second generation X Face philosophy, featuring a fully enclosed front fascia and sleek daytime running lights connected by a continuous LED strip. The main headlights are integrated low into the front bumper, while the rear showcases bold Star Ring taillights and a stylish spoiler positioned above the rear glass. This sporty and futuristic styling gives the G7 a commanding presence on the road. With a drag coefficient of just 0.238 Cd, the G7 ranks among the most aerodynamically efficient models in its class, coming very close to the Tesla Model Y’s 0.230 Cd.

With advanced 5C fast charging technology, the G7 can regain up to 436 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes. The vehicle boasts an energy consumption rate of 10.8 kWh per 100 km and supports V2L functionality, allowing it to act as a 6 kW external power source. Its suspension system uses AI to analyze road conditions in real time, adapting within 200 milliseconds. This ensures a remarkably quiet and comfortable ride, even on uneven roads, placing it in direct competition with the Mercedes Benz GLE and Tesla Model Y when it comes to ride comfort.

A cutting edge 87 inch augmented reality head up display, developed in collaboration with Huawei, projects key driving data and navigation instructions directly onto the windshield, eliminating the need for a conventional instrument cluster.

The Xpeng G7 is equipped with cutting edge autonomous driving technologies through its XNGP system. In the top tier Ultra trim, the system runs on three in house Turing AI chips with a combined computing power of 2,250 TOPS. This setup enables Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities, which Xpeng plans to activate via an over the air update in December 2025. The standard trims are powered by dual Nvidia Orin-X chips delivering 508 TOPS.
Xpeng has subjected the G7’s advanced emergency braking (AEB) system to rigorous testing, including high speed stops at up to 130 km/h during daytime, as well as night time and tunnel scenarios. Safety systems rely on a sensor suite that includes eleven cameras and three millimeter wave radars. Structurally, the G7 boasts a torsional rigidity of 41,600 Nm per degree, while the battery pack is protected by a high strength 1,500 MPa steel casing.

The Xpeng G7 starts at 195,800 yuan (27,325 USD - 100,352 AED) for the G7 Max trim with a 602 km range. The same trim with an extended 702 km range is priced at 205,800 yuan (28,720 USD - 105,477 AED). The top tier Ultra version is available at 225,800 yuan (31,510 USD - 115,728 AED), offering premium upgrades such as Nappa leather upholstery and power operated door handles, along with exclusive promotional offers valid through the end of July.
In comparison, the Xiaomi YU7 is priced between 254,500 and 329,900 yuan (130,437 - 169,082 AED), while the Tesla Model Y starts at 263,500 yuan (135,050 AED). The Zeekr 7X ranges from 229,900 to 269,900 yuan (117,829 to 138,330 AED), and the Aito M5 follows a similar pricing range. Meanwhile, the Luxeed R7 can reach up to 339,800 yuan (174,156 AED).
